Administration Department
Crossways set up a separate, dedicated Admin Department in 2002 and based in the grounds of the care home, it provides most of the administrative support for the two houses, other projects and the charity as a whole. It is run by one full-time Administrator and two part-time assistants. Click on the link to find out more about the admin staff.

For the Care Home
For the care home the staff manage the requirements and invoicing for the seven local authorities we are currently contracted with. For details of how the care home is financed, follow the link to Paying for Care.
We also deal with benefit inquiries for the residents at the care home and DWP appointee for those residents who find it too difficult to manage their own claim for benefit. The amount of money each resident receives can vary (depending what entitlements they have) and some residents are required to make a contribution towards their care, For more details, follow the link to What Benefits?
For the Hostel
Until recently, there was very little regulation or monitoring of hostels other than that which is common to any work place and large house. In April 2004 the Government introduced Supporting People which allocated additional money to help support people in the community. The money is administered by local authorities (who also monitor compliance with the Supporting People Quality Assurance Framework) and we have received confirmation that we have successfully been accredited and therefore will be awarded a three-year contract.
For the Charity as a whole
Although most of the work is based on the activities of the two houses (currently the main function of the charity), some aspects are independent and these include the payroll, donations and gift aid, paying invoices, updating the web site, job applications and budgets for the charity.
CRB Disclosures
Crossways is a Registered Body and Registered Umbrella Body with the Criminal Records Bureau so that we can process CRB Disclosures for our own staff and also for other employers who are not registered themselves. Click on the link for more details CRB Disclosures.
