The Kitchen Table

The Kitchen table is our community cafe at 19 Camden Road Tunbridge Wells. The Kitchen Table is a different sort of cafe. It’s not just about coffee and cake. It’s about community, about connecting and about chatting.

We believe that talking with someone is a great way to improve our mental health. So we have staff available if you would like to chat and our staff can also point you towards other resources that might help you. But if you would like just to sit quietly and enjoy your cuppa that is absolutely fine too. The Kitchen table is helping us to support people in our community who live with poor mental health.

Opening Hours:

Tuesday to Saturday – 8am to 3pm (closed Sunday and Monday)

Here’s what one of our volunteers has to say about the impact the Kitchen Table has had on them:

I absolutely love every aspect of the job. From washing up to chatting to customers. When working my heart feels lighter. It gives me purpose and structure to my day otherwise I would be in bed. It also gives me a break from my damning thoughts, a bit of respite. Occasionally I seek reassurance and the team happily reassure me. I really look forward to going to work. I am made to feel part of a team and valued and supported too.

We are delighted that this community resource is having such a significant impact on the people around us.

If you are interested in volunteering at the Kitchen Table, you can get in touch here. If you are in Tunbridge Wells town centre, pop in and see us, it’s a good place to chat – we are open Tuesdays to Saturdays.
