As part of our annual Summer Party we held a scarecrow competition, and there were some very scary and imaginative entries! Even the Trustees got involved, building on their Lego experience at last year’s staff away day. The winner – judged by a relative of one of our residents – was by Moxham House who came up with an acrobatic upside down scarecrow, who still graces the garden a month later. All entries are pictured below.
We had the usual delicious barbecue, provided by Fullers Butchers with salads from Moxham, followed by ice creams from Ellinor’s Ices, much appreciated on a hot day. There was music from Debbie Perolls in fine voice, with help from one of our residents – and some impromptu dancing by staff and residents! Other entertainment was in the form of Splat the Rat, Hook a Duck and the coconut shy.
Over 100 staff, residents and family members attended the party, which was deemed a great success!
