Passionate About Supporting Your Community? Join Our Team!

Do you enjoy working as part of a team, are able to use your initiative and have great attention to detail?

Would you like to work for an organisation whose employees consistently report feeling valued and supported?

About the Role

This role is integral to our daily operations, and will see you working closely with our other Cleaner, and the team of Support Workers, at our CQC Registered Residential Home in central Tunbridge Wells. Our homes provide a safe and nurturing environment to people who have, or are recovering from, mental health issues.

This role has a key part to play in that journey, by ensuring the house is kept clean and tidy, adhering to all relevant health & safety and infection control regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To be responsible for the general day to day cleanliness of all staff and communal resident areas.
  • To complete periodic deep cleans.
  • To assist with house laundry.
  • To ensure all relevant records are kept up to date.
  • To comply with COSHH regulations and risk assessments.
  • To assist with stock checking and ordering of cleaning supplies.
  • To occasionally clean residents’ personal bedrooms & bath/shower rooms, including when preparing them for new resident arrivals.
  • To occasionally assist with cleaning other areas of Crossways.
  • To assist with preparing and clearing away spaces used for house activities and events.

Who Do We Need

This role is part time, working 8.45am to 12.45pm, Monday to Friday (20 hrs per week).

Although you will not be working directly with our residents, you will have plenty of opportunities for interaction with them, so a positive attitude towards people who are experiencing mental health difficulties, and a willingness to work alongside them in a residential setting is essential.

Although some cleaning experience is desirable, it is not essential, as full training will be provided.

Essential Requirements:

  • Physically fit and able to undertake the requirements of the role.
  • Excellent English, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to complete relevant training courses including Infection Control & Safeguarding.
  • Able to be sensitive to the privacy and individual needs of the residents, ensuring confidentiality is maintained at all times.
  • Able to prioritise, plan work and deliver an excellent level of attention to detail.
  • Be calm, confident, patient and flexible, with good interpersonal skills.
  • Be capable of working as part of a team, with minimal supervision.

Rewards and Benefits

  • Competitive Salary: £13,440 per annum (FTE = £25,200), with an annual salary review.
  • Generous Leave: 28 days paid annual leave (including bank holidays), increasing annually up to 33 days (this is the full time entitlement, which is pro rata’d for part time roles).
  • Pension: Company pension scheme starting from month three, with increasing employer contributions after the first year.
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Includes health insurance (for you and qualifying family members), Blue Light discount card, and company sick pay (after probation).
  • Employee Development: Wide range of fully funded in-house and external training options.
  • Convenience: Free on-site parking.
